Veterans and Kids is a local 501 c(3) civic organization not affiliated with any state or
national organization. Comprised of Rhea County veterans, and local citizens, we primarily exist for the purpose of giving back to our community.
This morning — Thursday, December 4th, 2025 — Mr. Buckles’ Economics class at Rhea County High School, long-time attendees of the monthly Vets and Kids breakfast, partnered with Mr. Pendergrass to host a special fundraiser breakfast for the program.
At Rhea County High School, economics teacher Mr. Buckles goes above and beyond the classroom—showing his students the importance of community, connection, and service.
Every year, Rhea County High School inclusion chapter, Best Buddies, goes above and beyond to throw a thanksgiving celebration like no other - Friendsgiving. This even includes a full thanksgiving meal, activities, fellowship, and music. (No Best Buddies event is complete without some dancing) This year, Vets and Kids sponsored the Friendsgiving meal for the chapter. All members enjoyed the delicious food - thanks to Evelyn's Catering- and we look forward to helping this wonderful chapter again soon!
